7th Annual Columbus (Ohio) Day Celebration

This Monday is Michael’s favorite holiday, when the banks and post offices close to celebrate the awesomeness that is Columbus, Ohio. (At least that’s our understanding of the thing.) We like to join in, so every Columbus Day we feature the best foodstuffs of Columbus, Cleveland, Cincinnati and greater Ohio.

This year brings a new star to our OH-10 firmament: the Polish Boy from Cleveland. A fusion of blue-collar cultures — Central European and Southern, it’s a Polish sausage sandwich with cole slaw and barbecue sauce, topped with French Fries for good measure.

Other Ohio treats that we’ll be cooking for you include:

* Lake Erie walleye from Kate’s Fish in the West Side Market (should be ready at 5pm)

* Cincinnati Chili

* Bucyrus Bratwurst

* Buckeye Desserts

Personally, I was in Columbus a couple weeks back, but mostly I just drank mezcal and fell over. So I’m looking forward to taking a mulligan and enjoying a day of real Ohio treats.

I hope you’ll join us!
