Best of CA weekend: SLO grassfed Steak and Humboldt beer to the Max

What happens with the return of Mad River Serious Madness coincides with the return of Spanish Oak Steakhouse Weekend? I’m not sure if even mc² has enough E to match what’s going down at the Link this weekend.

Today we’re receiving another whole grass-fed Angus steer from our friends at Spanish Oak Ranches in San Luis Obispo, CA. Their farm is quickly becoming a premier grower of grass-fed beef — as the hundreds of you who came in for last month’s steakhouse weekend found out. So on this Friday and Saturday (at least — maybe Sunday too, this steer is a lot bigger than the last one) we’ll be selling all the most prized steak cuts off this animal: the New York strip, the Filet Mignon (wrapped in house cured bacon, natch), and the Rib-Eye. They’ll be available after 5:30 pm each nite.

Meanwhile, our friends from Mad River are rolling into town — we just saw Dylan today — in preparation for a serious Serious Madness reprise: 6 casks, 5 drafts, rare one-offs, and food pairings with each of the 6 cask beers. This event will start Saturday at noon and go until 11pm.

I know the question for many folks is to come to eat this weekend, or twice. But don’t forget the “three times” option, either.
