This weekend our town is fortunate to host Kelly Biensen from Eden Farms, who will be at Iowa Meat Farms and Siesel’s showing off Eden’s amazing Berkshire breed pork.
Kelly is an amazing farmer, co-op leader, and visionary for Iowa farming, and I really got to appreciate him and his work when I visited him last year. Additionally, he has made it possible for us to buy (through Eden Farms) pastured, traditionally-raised, no-antibiotics-ever Berkshire pork from Barney Bahrenfuse of Grinnell, Iowa. This pork is one of the really unique ingredients we are able to offer here and we are grateful for the work of both Kelly and Barney.
If you have time, I’d recommend going to Iowa Meat Farms or Siesel’s and meeting Kelly and tasting Eden pork.
