As of tonite, we’re bringing back the single most requested menu item we’ve ever had. With a new name, and more importantly, new dough. Behold, the Linkery Hand Roll.

We stopped serving this link sandwich a couple years ago because we just couldn’t get the balance right between the bread and the sausage. And that is not cool for a sandwich. But when the kitchen debuted their semolina bread a few weeks ago, we knew it was the right match for the ‘wich.

The roll is toasted from the inside using a very hot metal spike. Imported from Europe, no less (the toaster, that is, not the roll. We bake the roll.)

Reintroducing the better-than-ever sammy is part of our project to strengthen our pub menu. Also, this is the food item that first brought together the idea of the Linkery, when I stumbled upon this sausage stand in Vienna and delighted in the Kasekrainer sausage served “in hot dog”. The Ur-link.

ADDENDUM…they are also great for takeaway, as pictured below.
