There are so many myths when it comes to cooking. So many cooking methods that are carved in stone, even though you do not really know why you do things a certain way.
Boiling pasta is one such thing, it turns out. It should be made in a large saucepan, in plenty of water and the pasta should be added when the water boils intensively. That is a general belief, anyway.
An alternative way to cook pasta is to use a frying pan. And there are actually several benefits to this.
- It goes faster.
- The pasta does not stick together – even though you do not move it around.
- It is cooked perfectly.
- You save energy.
- You get a really nice sauce base at the same time.
- It is also very simple.
Take a frying pan and add the pasta. Fill with 1-1.5 liters of water and salt. Put the plate on the highest heat and bring to a boil. When the pasta is done, pick up with a spoon and use the remaining starch liquid/pasta water as the base for the pasta sauce.
