Beer Week 2012 Schedule!

Here’s our lineup of events for San Diego Beer Week 2012. Check back periodically for updates. We hope you will join us for some of these celebrations. All events are free to attend.

Serious Madness 5.0 with Mad River Brewing
Saturday November 3
at the Linkery

Join us for the 5th (yes, we’ve been doing this since before Beer Week started) edition of our massive party with Blue Lake, California’s Mad River Brewing, also featuring food pairings from our chef Keith Adams.

The 4th Annual Green Flash Smokeout
Sunday, November 4th
at the Linkery

Join us for the 4th Annual Green Flash Smokeout, featuring a tap takeover by Green Flash and a feast of smoked meats and sausages at the Linkery. Green Flash brewer and 30th Street icon Chuck Silva will be in the house, natch. For food, enjoy pastured chickens, grass-fed beef, Berkshire pork and house made sausages, all cooked over local oak. It’s a Sunday, so we’ll also have some brunchy items and football (with sound) on television. This event is a great time every year. Beer list for this event is:

Cerveceria Wendlandt in San Diego
Monday, November 5th
at El Take It Easy

Ensenada’s favorite taproom/brewpub/gastropub sets up shop on 30th Street for one nite. We’ll be offering food selections from their menu, and brewmaster/proprietor Eugenio Romero-Wendlandt will be on hand pouring his favorite San Diego brews plus a locally brewed version of one of his beers.

Monday, November 5th and Tuesday November 6th
at the Linkery

Join us as we offer some unique and fun beers from our cellar, that we save every year for this event. Beers TBA.

We’ll Make Manhattans: Green Flash Rye Barleywine Party
Tuesday, November 6th
at El Take It Easy

Green Flash Brewmaster Chuck Silva will be celebrating the release of his collaboration brew with Cigar City: Candelas rye barleywine. Green Flash is conditioning a cask of Candelas with vermouth-inspired ingredients to create a Manhattanish version of the beer, we’ll have regular Candelas on draft, and beyond that we’ll making some actual rye whiskey Manhattans, all in the name of research. And deliciousness. Other Green Flash beers on tap include Cedar Plank Pale Ale, East Village Pilsner, and Belgian Blonde.

Wednesday November 7th
at El Take It Easy

Join us for a 3-course vegan meal by Chef Max Bonacci for $20, paired with beers from nanobrewery Hess Brewing (beers optional/extra)

Our regular Wednesday features of local clams & mussels for $10, and our beef tallow fries, get joined by $4 pours of Lost Abbey’s beloved Belgian-style drafts. Lost Abbey selections include:

Lagers! We love them, and we wish there were more of them. Tonite, we’ll have a passel on all our taps at El Take It Easy, mostly from our friends at Ballast Point…plus, cocktails featuring Ballast Point’s awesome gin and rums. Beer list from Ballast will include:

Societe Brewing Pairings

at the Linkery

San Diego’s new all-star brewery has made a huge splash this year with the quality of their beers, and we are grateful to be hosting a pairings nite with them to close out Beer Week 2012. Come check out their amazing beers, and enjoy how marvelously they pair with our handcrafted local cuisine. Beers include The Apprentice, The Pupil, The Dandy, The Harlot, The Debutante, The Widow, and The Butcher.

All beers available by themselves or with pairings, pairings available a la carte. Event goes from 11am to midnite.
