Guacamole on Green Peas

A little Friday tip. Namely, pea guacamole. Yes, you read right. You can make really good guacamole without any avocado by using green peas instead. Faster against the wallet and the climate but tastes at least as good.

The most important thing when making guacamole on peas is to cook them al dente and to mix really smoothly. The texture gets thicker than if you have avocado but with a little water or lime juice you get exactly the same texture. Below is my recipe for guacamole made on peas.

Ingredients:

3 dl green peas (frozen)

1 garlic clove

juice from 2 limes

1 tbsp water

1 small tomato

0.5 red onion

1.5 tbsp olive oil

1 pinch of chilli flakes

1 krm cayenne pepper

0.5 tsp cumin

salt to taste.

Do this:

Put the peas in a saucepan. Cook until they become al dente. Pour off the water.
Mix the peas into a smooth puree with stick mixer.
Add finely grated garlic cloves, tomato cut into smaller pieces, finely chopped red onion, lime juice, water, olive oil and all spices.
Mix and serve with nacho chips!
